Jodhaa Akbar

The movie Jodha Akbar directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar who is the maker of the oscar nominated film Laagan is a
historical love story. The roles of Jodha bhai and Akbar are played by Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan. Coming to the
movie you have not watch anything so magnificent like this movie after long time on the Hindi screen. With this movie we
can say that Ashutosh Gowarikar has lots of courage, skill, patience, aptitude, knowledge, passion and of course money.
It also requires your belief in the subject a belief to attempt a historical movie when historical movies are not given
importance in the industry.
Coming to the misconception regarding the movie, it is profane to compare Mughal-E-Azam and Jodhaa Akbar. Mughal-
E-Azam is a legendary romance between Salim and Anarkali which is quite a common subject attempted number of
times in the Hindi screen before whereas Jodhaa Akbar is relationship shared between young Akbar and Jodhaa bhai.
Totally Jodhaa Akbar leaves you in fascination and makes the legendary characters come alive on the screen. The prime
reason why Jodhaa Akbar works is because the present-day viewer is unaware of the romance between the great
emperor Akbar and the Rajput prince Jodhaa. Some instances that are splendid in the movie are the war sequence at
the beginning, Hrithik taming an out of control elephant, two pre-condition set by jodhaa before her marriage,
confrontation between IIa Arun and Ash at the kitchen when ash wants to make meal herself, the intermission point
which sows the seeds of misunderstanding between Hritik and Ash, the sword fight between Ash and Hrithik….
Jodhaa Akbar on the whole is without a doubt a brilliant film and this historical movie has all that proves the first
blockbuster.Very strongly recommended!

Jannat – In search for heaven

Jannat the latest offering of Vishesh film is expect to be release in April, starring Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan.
The movie is the first one of Kunal Deshmukh who was assistant director to films like Kalyug, Wo Lamhe and Zeher. In
the movie Emraan Hashmi is a bookie and Sonal Chauhan is a struggling actress, who works for a call centre. Emraan
as a character of bookie looses some money after placing a bet and then the film revolves around the death of a cricket
coach. The film is about the life of bookie and his search for heaven, which are shown with some real cricket scenes.
The movie is shot in Mumbai and Capetown and lot of facts in the film are used from the Tehelka book called
“Fallen Heroes”. Initially Esha Deol was in the movie but she had to do lot of dance rehearsals for her
mother’s movie and could not continue in the movie. In the climax there is a hunt for a gold ring and on the sets
the entire crew would go mad hunting for it. Coming to the music of the film Pritam has done the music well but there is a
court case going on between T-Series and Vishesh films for music rights.

Jannat Movie Review
Director: Kunal DeshmukhCast : Emraan Hashmi, Sonal Chauhan, Sameer Kochchar
First things first! The Bhatts have as much (or rather as minuscule) knowledge about match-fixing and cricket-betting as
much as any average audience. So do not expect a fine-tuned screenplay detailing the intricacies on the misconduct of
cricket or revealing the modus operandi of the sport malpractice. The Bhatts are no Bhandarkar. Rather be prepared for
a superannuated story sketched not even around but on the external periphery of the theme of match-fixing.
So you have the conventional filmi hero character Arjun Dikshit (Emraan Hashmi) who subjects himself to love at first
sight as he notices the heroine Zoya (Sonal Chauhan) staring at a diamond ring in a mall. He shoplifts rings, splurges
credits cards and gambles to get hold of a swanky car to woo the girl. While the audience doesn’t fall prey of such
lousy layouts in the plot, the girl predictably falls for the guy.
Meanwhile our hero’s basic instincts work overtime (and we aren’t implying Emraan’s mandatory
lip-locks here). He proclaims of his sharp sixth sense that can predict every single move in the cricket matches as if he
were some ancestor of Nostradamus. From betting on matches, he turns a bookie and subsequently upgrades himself as
a match-fixer. Rather than an elaborate evolution, the progression of his character is rushed through one transition song.
Moreover the offhand approach through which he lures cricket captains amidst match innings by his casual
conversations in locker rooms is to be seen to be believed.
Soon Arjun shifts base to South Africa working for a match-fixing mafia head Abu (Javed Sheikh) who is perpetually
stationed in a stadium. Abu is distinctly demarcated as the desperado as his unlawful activities are extended to terrorism
funding. Arjun is given a relative clean chit on the pretext that match-fixers are not murderers.
The following story is stuffed with clichés galore. Arjun earns easy money through his illegal means. Zoya disapproves
of Arjun’s immoral ways but unapologetically resorts to strip-dancing in night clubs!!! In between there’s a
burger-bite hungry inspector on the constant trail of Arjun. A Bob Woolmer look-alike too surfaces in the climax though
with little significance as the writers take liberty to manipulate his murder to their own benefit. And the film opts for a
hurried end distinctly derived from Mahesh Bhatt’s Naam.
The love story in Jannat resorts to the archaic templates of the 80s while the backdrop theme of match-fixing on which
the film is formulated is least exploited in its screenplay.

India
The film opened to positive reviews on Friday with a fairly good opening of 70% all over India and later increased to 90%
during the weekend, with a three day business of 7.50 crore net approximately. Making a total first week net business of
11.75 crore from 350 cinemas, the film went into the second week with very strong collections and saw a massive
increase with 40%-50% increment in shows worldwide.
Continuing its strong march in week two with collections of over 9 crores and a two week total of 21 crores, the film was
declared a hit by BoxOfficeIndia. The film suffered a minor setback during its third week, as the number of shows for the
film were reduced due to the arrival of Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya. Due to
popular demand and the poor performance of the latter, the film saw an increase in the number of prints across the
country in its fourth week.
Overseas
Jab We Met also opened well overseas especially in the U.K., where it was released a day before than its worldwide
release of October 26. The film grossed £ 11,488 on its advance previews night on Thursday and £ 144,525 on its
opening weekend, collecting a total of £ 156,013 from 31 screens in its opening weekend. During its second week, the
film continued to do strong business, garnering excellent collections and making a two week total of £ 325,996 [approx.
Rs. 2.67 crores]. In its third weekend, the film collected £ 21,718 on 23 screens, making a grand total of £ 382,322
[approx. Rs. 3.11 crores].
Reviews
Many critics praised the film by saying that it was one of the finest [romantic] films to come out of Bollywood in 2007.
The lead performances were received positively by the public as well as the critics. Taran Adarsh commented, "Shahid
delivers his career-best performance in Jab We Met. He goes for a complete transformation vis-à-vis his looks and attire to
look the character he has chosen to portray and the understanding with which he enacts his part is worthy of lavish
praises. Kareena is in top form as well. Jab We Met is a turning point in her career [personally as well as professionally].
Fantabulous that's the right word to describe her work this time. The confidence with which she handles the contrasting
characterization speaks volumes. This film should do for her what Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) did for Kajol."
The soundtrack of the film was released on September 21, 2007 by lead actress, Kareena Kapoor on the musical show
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007.
Composed by popular music director, Pritam, the film's music was well received. Joginder Tuteja from Indiafm.com gave
the music 3 ½ out of 5 stars saying, "In 2007, Pritam may have been come up with good music in number of films such
as Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Awarapan, Hattrick, Kya Love Story Hai and Just Married. But if there is one album that impresses
most after Life...In A Metro and turns out to be most satisfying experience, it is Jab We Met. The album is a perfect
example of how to get a quality soundtrack which mixes songs for different segments of audience."
The film's soundtrack debuted at number 8 and later climbed up to number 5 during its second week. The following week
of October 15, it climbed up one spot to number 4 and stayed there for another week. After the film released, the album
sales soared in an exponential manner, moving the soundtrack up one spot to number 3 and later moving it up again one
spot to number 2, where it stayed for two consecutive weeks.

Sometimes, small films in terms of canvas, budget, cast] have a lot to say than supposedly big films. HONEYMOON
TRAVELS PVT. LTD., directed by Reema Kagti, is one such film!

One might be tempted to ask: Can HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. be clubbed with films like DARNA MANA HAI,
DARNA ZAROORI HAI and SALAAM-E-ISHQ? Sure, HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. talks of six couples and their
individualistic stories, but each of them are woven in one thread. Let’s get one more thing right: This one’s
not inspired by BOMBAY TO GOA either. The similarity ends when a bus-full of passengers embark on a journey to Goa.

Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. is a Bollywood movie, released on 23 February 2007.
Plot
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
The story is about six couples, who are on their honeymoon with the Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. bus and their trials
and tribulations during the four-day-journey. The couples are:
Oscar Fernandez (Boman Irani) and his wife Nahid (Shabana Azmi) who have just recently married. They are middleaged
and the target of constant mock from everyone else. However, they intent to have a great journey and not be
bothered by their difficult pasts. This is their second marriage. Oscar's first wife committed suicide and Nahid's husband
and 2 children expired in a car accident. Oscar is Nahid's first husband's business partner. After a chance meeting with
Oscar's estranged daughter in Goa, father and daughter mend their relationship.
Partho Sen (Kay Kay Menon) and Milly Sen (Raima Sen), a couple from small town Bengal.
Pinky (Amisha Patel) and Vicky (Karan Khanna), hailing from Dehli. They couldn't be more different, as Pinky is very
extroverted and Vicky is the opposite. When Vicky sees Bunty for the first time, he develops feelings for him but isn't able
to express them.
Madhu (Sandhya Mridul) and Bunty (Vikram Chatwal) have most recently married. They differences draw from the fact
that he is a NRI, a non-resident India, while she has lived in Mumbai, India, for her entire life. Bunty is a closet
homosexual and his parents want him to marry the daughter of a family friend but out of anxiety he contacted Madhu
over the net and came to India and married quickly. Madhu had a recent failed relationship with a man, who she left after
discovering that he had a wife and child already. She found Bunty on the internet and married quickly to forget that pain.
Hitesh (Ranvir Shorey) and Shilpa (Dia Mirza) are both from Gujarat and both of them question the nature of their
affiliation, as they wonder if love or marriage is more important in life. During the first half hour, Shilpa runs away with her
love, Arjun Rampal. Shilpa and her love board the Honeymoon Travels bus returning to Mumbai, while escaping from
contract killers sent by Hitesh's father.
Aspi (Abhay Deol) and Zara (Minissha Lamba) seemlingly the most perfect couple of them all. They've never fought in
their life with each other. And unknown to each other, each of them hide a secret i.e. they are superman and
superwoman respectively in reality.
As the bus continues it's journey, it is followed by a mysterious man, dressed in black clothes, wearing a helmet -
someone who has still an open business with one of the passengers.

individualistic stories, but each of them are woven in one thread. Let’s get one more thing right: This one’s
not inspired by BOMBAY TO GOA either. The similarity ends when a bus-full of passengers embark on a journey to Goa.
HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. holds your interest at most times because of its unpredictable plotline. The stories
seem straight out of life and the characters are identifiable. If you haven’t encountered people with similar traits,
you may’ve heard of them from someone for sure.
HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. is Reema Kagti’s debut vehicle, but there’s clarity in her vision.
It’s a difficult task to narrate six stories in 12 reels/2 hours and Kagti does it quite well. A few moments linger in
your memory. Yet, there are times when you feel that the debutante could’ve given a truly satisfying culmination
to a few stories.
In a nutshell, HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. is a notch above the commonplace. You don’t expect the
moon when the lights are switched off and the reels unfold, but it does succeed in bringing a smile on your face when the
lights are turned on after the end credits.
HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. is about six married couples on a package honeymoon to Goa. This vacation is a
subsidized option for a lot of dreamers on the brink of their new life.
The film opens with six couples, a guide, a driver and a handyman riding in a bus from Mumbai to Goa. The narrative
humorously unfolds different stories that explore the nature of love and human relationships. Woven into the hectic fourday
honeymoon schedule is a radio show. The jockey plays the role of an omniscient narrator and discusses individual
characters, revealing secrets about them and their past.
From the time the bus leaves Mumbai, a man on a bike follows them all the way to Goa. This mystery man is dressed in
leather and a helmet throughout, until one day…
Six stories. Twelve people. Varied emotions. That’s the apt way to describe HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD.
Let’s dissect the six couples one by one…
* Shabana Azmi – Boman Irani: The reasons that bring these two lonely people together are justified. The turning
point in the story -- Boman accidentally meeting his daughter in Goa -- gives the story an interesting twist. But the
daughter’s re-emergence [she complains of her boyfriend two-timing her] in the end looks amateurish. However,
what elevates the story are the delicate moments between the two adults.
* Kay Kay Menon – Raima Sen: This one stands out. It’s perfect. The pangs of jealousy [when
Raima’s sari opens up as she enjoys a sea-sport] or Raima’s suggestion of having their own home is a
reflection of the current times, what with more and more people believing in the concept of nuclear families.
* Amisha Patel – Karan Khanna: This one takes you by complete surprise. Again, the twist in the tale -- Karan
getting attracted to Vikram Chatwal -- catches you unaware. But why doesn’t Karan listen to his heart? If the
writer had the guts to show the attraction between two males, why didn’t she take this story to its destination?
Why strand it midway?
* Sandhya Mridul – Vikram Chatwal: Fine writing elevates this story. Vikram’s admission that he’s
gay comes as a bolt from the blue. But, as mentioned above, the story between Vikram and Karan deserved some
culmination. Sandhya’s previous relationship is beautifully restructured and sensitively handled.
* Abhay Deol – Minissha Lamba: Very cute. Blows your mind to see this perfect couple. You are awestruck until
you discover that they aren’t ordinary mortals. They possess super powers and have the potential to be desi
Superman and Superwoman. Yet, despite the unbelievable factor, the sequences between them are cute.
* Ranveer Shorey – Dia Mirza – Arjun Rampal: Starts off very well and reaches the crescendo when Dia
elopes with Arjun. But their re-entry in the final reel and the forced stunt-n-chase looks straight out of 1970s Bollywood
masala film. Ms. Kagti, why this ghisa-pita angle to this triangle? Also, Ranveer deserved more footage!
Over and above these stories, there’s a story involving the bus driver and his nephew. The driver is a drug
peddler and the nephew has to pay a price for it. So far, so good! But the subsequent romance between the nephew and
a foreigner [who nurses him back to normalcy] is hard to digest.
Director Reema Kagti shows promise as a storyteller. She knows the grammar of film-making right and has handled a
number of sequences smartly. But it’s the writing that could’ve been stronger. The sequence involving
Shabana and the bus driver [Darshan Jariwala] in the end is brilliant, but the ending seems slightly abrupt. Vishal-
Shekhar’s tunes are catchy and hit the right notes. ‘Sajnaji Vari Vari’, ‘Halke Halke’
and ‘Pyaar Ki Yeh Kahani’ are numbers that sync well with the narrative. The choreography of
‘Pyaar Ki Yeh Kahani’ [filmed on Abhay-Minissha] is splendid. Cinematography is arresting. Dialogues
[Anurag Kashyap] are well-worded, especially the lines delivered by Shabana in the end.
The ones who leave an impression are [in this order] Shabana Azmi [superb], Kay Kay Menon [brilliant], Boman Irani
[first-rate], Sandhya Mridul [excellent], Raima Sen [natural], Abhay Deol [admirable] and Minissha Lamba [likeable].
Amisha Patel does an average job, while Karan Khanna is nurturing into a fine actor. Vikram Chatwal is strictly okay.
Ranveer Shorey is wasted. Dia [looks very pretty] and Arjun are also relegated to the backseat. Darshan Jariwala is up to
the mark.
On the whole, HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. is a decent entertainer that has something worthwhile to say. At the
box-office, this one’s for the multiplexes completely. Its business in Mumbai, Delhi and South should be the best!

Hastey Hastey Review

Hastey Hastey
The reason why a majority of films go unnoticed is courtesy the weak storyline first. The other factors come later.
HASTEY HASTEY - FOLLOW YOUR HEART also suffers for this reason. The story idea, credited to one Rohit Batra, is
so tacky, so banal, so obsolete, so lifeless that you break into a big yawn 10 minutes into the film. Seriously, you actually
pinch yourself. Are you watching a film produced in 2008? Clearly, the writer is the villain here.
Let's look at the plusses first. The first-time producers have left no stone unturned to give the film an upscale look. Sure,
a number of films have been filmed in the U.S., but very few have done justice to the panoramic locales that U.S. has to
offer. Also, Anu Malik's music is quite catchy. You hum a few lines when the songs unfold on screen. Plus, there's Rajpal
Yadav in a triple role. Fine, the jokes are corny, but you cannot help but break into a laugh at times.
Write your own movie review of Hastey-Hastey
But the problem is that the writer messes things up completely. And the writers [screenplay: Gavender Agrawal and
Ritesh Pandey; scenario, dialogues: Bholu Khan] don't do much to salvage the situation. The screenplay is as listless as
the concept. Sad, a good opportunity is lost!
Neel [Jimmy Sheirgill], a student at Columbia University, is in love with Maya [Nisha Rawal]. Sunny [Rajpal Yadav] is
Neel's room-mate and also his buddy. Neel accepts a career opportunity that requires him to go to India to set up a call
centre business. Much against Maya's wishes, Neel travels to India with Sunny.
Tanvi [Monishka Gupta] is a young executive who goes out of her way to help Neel and his team in India. She is
instantly attracted to Neel and tries her best to win his heart. But Neel rejects Tanvi. Hell hath no fury like a woman
scorned and Tanvi succeeds in making life miserable for Neel. How Neel comes out of it is the remainder of this
misadventure.
Director Toony tries to pack in ample entertaining moments in this 2 + hour film. The love story [at the start] is
monotonous, the turning point in the tale [the scam] is the weakest link of the enterprise and the love story [towards the
penultimate reels] is never-ending; it goes on and on and on. You are exasperated by then.
The scam part is so childishly treated that you don't believe it. What really happens and how it eventually gets solved
makes you feel that the writers don't even know the basics of putting a story together. Even the climax is too weak. The
lead pair desperately hunts for each other in New York. They keep running from pillar to post till they [suddenly] meet in
the end. Hey, aren't we living in an era of cell phones and Internet?
Given the sub-standard writing, director Toony tries his best to salvage the show. He has executed the comic scenes
[Rajpal Yadav] well. Otherwise too, a few moments are interestingly handled. Anu Malik's musical score is pleasant. The
title track is the best of the lot. Damodar Naidu's cinematography is topnotch.
As always, Jimmy Sheirgill pitches in a sincere performance. The two ladies -- Nisha Rawal and Monishka -- are nonactors,
but the cleavage show might appeal to the hoi polloi. Rajpal Yadav is excellent. Jawed Sheikh is wasted. Ditto for
Manoj Joshi. And what did Shakti Kapoor see in this role? Upasana Singh is getting typecast.
On the whole, HASTEY HASTEY - FOLLOW YOUR HEART is a poor show. At the box-office, the weak merits coupled
with the climax of the IPL cricket matches will make it an also-ran!

SynopsisAshfaque (Ajay Devgan) is a small town boy aspiring to be a film star in the Hindi film industry. He joins a street
theatre group run by a reformed dacoit Sidhu (Pankaj Kapur) who uses street theatre as a medium to bring about an
awakening in the masses. Ashfaque struggles to give a creative vent to the actor in him in order to realize his dreams.
Ashfaque's determined struggle pays off and he gets a break in films. He gets a new screen name - Sameer Khan. With
the passage of time, the roles start becoming better and he moves up the success ladder in a very short time. Soon, he
becomes Sameer Khan the superstar - one who can enact any role with finesse, get under the skin of any and every
character with ease and walk away with audience applause.
Sadly, amidst all adulation and applause, he slowly loses his own identity. He forgets his real self and imbibes all
characteristics of the various roles essayed by him on screen. Corruption takes over his entire system, alienating him
from all loved ones, including his wife Sneha (Vidya Balan).
A shocking incident at a party changes everything, rocking Sameer Khan's lifestyle. He gets caught between his human
self on one side and his corrupted superstar image on the other.
Whether the conflict within him gives way to good sense and whether he is able to discard his corrupted image and
emerge as a true life hero, becomes an integral part of this true life cinema.

"" or "Dhoop Chaon..." - last I remember Ashwini Chowdhary had made a lovely sun-kissed film called "Dhoop".

So what did we miss here?

"Good Boy Bad Boy" is like a prescription to eternal cine-phobia.

There's no reason why this film should've been made in the first place.

And if it has been made, there's no valid reason for us to sit through

the ordeal of good boy Tusshar Kapoor with oiled hair, button-up shirt

taking on bad boy Emraan in scruffy jeans, stubble, sundry sunglasses.

For a while the twosome frolic in the campus to Himesh Reshammiya's 'young', noisy and breathy tracks. Then they
decide to join up and have fun. They do. We don't! Simple.
The campus is a textbook of idiocy. The teachers, flirty and buxom Sushmita Mukherjee and sundry clowns, are
balanced out by principal Paresh Rawal who comes up with arguably his most unaccomplished performance in five years.
It's not that Paresh doesn't try to lend credibility to his role of a principal. He tries to bring a sense of order to a campus
infested by punks and other street-vile types who don't seem to know how to hold a book right. And the only test they
seem capable of passing is the HIV-positive one.
It's tough to tell what director Chaudhary hoped to achieve through this classroom of compulsive craziness. Maybe he
wanted to make a "Main Hoon Na" of the punk generation. Maybe he wanted to build a pyramid of laughter out of
youthful angst. Maybe he wanted us to forget he made "Dhoop" not too long ago.
The director fails on all counts, but one. It's easy to forget that this director had not too long ago displayed enough
sensitivity to make us hopeful for his future.
What works is the principal casting. Tusshar and Hashmi are good and bad without trying too hard. But their efforts to
remain true to 'tripe' defeats their very purpose of being in the film. The two leading ladies try to be glamorous and sassy.
Isha has lost a lot of weight, even on her face. Gone with the avoirdupois is her ability to emote that we saw in Subhash
Ghai's "Kisna". Tanushree Dutta is so badly styled you wonder what keeps her from toppling under the weight of her
clumsiness.
Ditto the film.
Tackily produced and clumsily packaged "Good Boy, etc is an embarrassment to producer Subhash Ghai.

("Remember the Titans," "Miracle," "The Rookie""The Rookie") has a new hardcourt addition drawn from a terrific story --
the saga of the all-black Texas team whose success spurred the integrating of college basketball throughout the South --
that is, for the most part, deftly executed. Although doubtless destined to evoke comparisons with "Hoosiers" and even
TV's "The White Shadow," "Glory Road" is a slick enterprise buoyed by a Motown-flavored '60s soundtrack and an
appealing ensemble cast. Box office should be in line with its predecessors and might go higher, provided today's urban
teens can accept basketball players wearing short shorts. For years, Texas Western (now the U. of Texas at El Paso) has
been the answer to a college basketball trivia question -- it's the little school that won the national championship in 1966,
sandwiched by UCLA's nine titles over a decadelong span beginning in 1964.
Review By Pam Grady:
When Don Haskins (Josh Lucas) took over as head basketball coach at El Paso's Texas Western University in 1965, the
sport was still mainly a white affair. Most teams only had a few black players at most, and many of those athletes were
simply tokens who rode the bench all season. But Haskins was a coach hungry to win and he could not care less about
skin color. His actions as he took the reins of the Texas Western program were simple and direct and they helped usher
in a new era of integration in basketball. That achievement is what Glory Road celebrates in this well-meaning, stylish,
inspirational sports drama. Haskins is coaching high school ball when he gets the call to take over the Texas Western
Miners. This is the chance he has been waiting for, the chance to prove that he can coach with the big boys, but there's a
hitch. The Miners are on the fast track to Palookaville; they're a basketball team at a football school with little money and
even fewer perks. Haskins has no chance of recruiting any top talent to play on his team—any top white talent,
that is. Those players are heavily in demand at powerhouses like the University of Kentucky and Duke. But schools tend
to ignore gifted black athletes, a big mistake, to Haskins' way of thinking. His credo is, "I don't see color. I see quick. I
see skill." And he sets about building a fully integrated unit.

Gauri - The Unborn

The director Aku Akbar touched an interesting subject and tackled the story well. The movie is about abortion and the
feelings of the foetus and the revenge and thirst for a mother touch. Akbar tried his best to convey a good message on
anti-abortion but it did not catch the public.
The movie concentrated on the dealing with demons of abortion which was covered in the first half itself but the second
half the movie was little bit dragged and confused the theme. In the present days abortion is not a big problem for most
of the couples but its always a big issue. The people think they are not committing any crime with this act but here they
do not think that a life is been taken away.
This message is also covered in the movie by anupam kher plays a father roles and tries to convince his son Atul
Kulkarni who does not want the child to be born as he still is in his first stage of career. Though the message is good it is
not shown is a good way in the movie. They are many loopholes in the script which does not have any sense. It is sad,
as this is a terrific subject and Akbar has made a mess of it and those who see GAURI will certainly have a different
thinking on abortion. Frankly, you can give this one a miss instead of messing with it.

Fida

FidaStarring: Fardeen Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid KapoorProducer: Kumar Taurani/ Tips FilmsDirector: Ken
GhoshMusic: Anu Malik
Lyrics: SameerJai (Shahid Kapoor), who wishes to meet the girl of his dreams, actually meet her one fine day and falls
for her. She is Neha (Kareena Kapoor). If you want to know why, well, it's a case of love at first sight! The girl
reciprocates, after some cajoling, and the two lovebirds are supposed to live happily thereafter. There is another plot in
this love story. An unidentified person hacks into the bank account of an underworld don (Akhilendra Mishra) and
transfers the huge sum to his account. The police is on the trail of the hacker, so is the underworld don.
Here, Neha tells Jai that her father was a criminal and had borrowed Rs 60 million from the underworld. It is up to her to
return the money within three days or be dead.
Jai decided to rescue her. With the intention of robbing a bank, he visits it where he sees a fellow, withdrawing a large
sum of money and decides to rob him. The man is Vikram (Fardeen Khan). Jai follows him and attempts to rob him, but
Vikram captures him. The film takes a twist!
Vikram strikes a deal with him. Jai will tell the cops that he is the hacker and Vikram will give him the Rs. 6 crores that he
requires so desperately. The former agrees. He is arrested by the cops and is about to be produced in court when the
underworld don's henchmen attack him. Jai manages to escape, and rushed to Neha's house. He is shocked by what he
sees...
Fida is much better than some of the other movies released this year. Editing is sharp and cinematography is superb.
However, the screenplay lacks momentum, and the film fails to grip the viewer in the beginning.
The first half is wasted on building up a love story. The second half is much better, and the climax has a twist in it. Music
by Anu Malik is definitely above average.
As film critic Mayank Shekhar puts it: "Ghosh's Fida is vaguely reminiscent of 'Ajnabee' (2001) and 'Ek Hasina Thi'
(2004). Except, horrendously haphazard, unbelievably unsophisticated and mindlessly meandering, it shares neither the
energy of Abbas-Mustan's admirable escapade, nor the slickness of Sriram Raghavan's street caper." However, the hot
romantic pair of Shahid and Kareena is the biggest plus of the film apart from stunning locales and good music. Worth a
watch!

Ek Vivaah..Aisa Bhi Movie

Director : Kaushik GhatakMusic : Ravindra JainLyrics : Ravindra JainStarring : Sonu Sood, Eesha Koppikar, Alok Nath,
Smita Jaykar, Anang Desai, Vishal Malhotra and Chhavi Mittal etc.
The Rahshri Production House know their audience well. They also know their strategy. Hence, when movies are being
simultaneously opened to over hundreds of screens across the city, you can count the number of screens on your hand
when a Rajshri releases their films. This explains my first statement. Also, the garish publicity where you have sudden
'incidents', which supposedly happened on the sets while shooting making way into the media a few weeks before the
release is missing. That's because, I believe, they believe in letting their product do their talking rather than pumping in
senseless amount of obscene money to promote the film. I understand from their strategy that they work backwards,
meaning adding screens as the film gains popularity. A very bold approach in these times of recovering the initials within
the first week.
In that sense, EK VIVAAH... AISA BHI hits their target audience. You get what you go in for. Lots of drama, love,
sacrifice, songs by the dozen and yes, lots of weddings in true Rajshri style. Before I go into the details, let me mention
that Isha Koppikar (I believe she has changed her spelling, and for fear of her reverting to her old spelling, like other
stars, I will stick to the original) and Sonu Sood both give off a rock solid performance. Never once over-the-top, both
actors underplay their emotions to give the right dose of sanity to the happenings around them. Of course, in today's day
and age, you will hardly find love of this kind, but the Rajshri's are the eternal romantics. Isha has been around for long
and will certainly be noticed for this act, and Sonu I hope, gets all the right roles to match his talent. Prem (Sonu) and
Chandni (Isha) are two singers who meet at a contest and fall in love. A day before her engagement, her father passes
away in his sleep. A greedy uncle has devious plans of taking over their house once Chandni is married leaving the
house and her two school-going siblings in their care. Chandni learns of their scheme and is resolved to not let her
siblings suffer. She sacrifices love for duty and takes it upon herself to educate the two and raise them up singlehandedly,
just like her father did when her mother passed away. Prem is free to marry another woman, but willingly waits
for his love, being a moral support to her all through the years. Chandni immerses herself so much in her duty that she
forgets self. She marries off her brother. There's trouble in the form of her sister-in-law. Brother is forced to leave the
house to be with his wife, even though he wants to be with his sister. Her sister too is married off. Her brother returns
with his now sobered down wife for his sister's wedding.
What happens to Chandni and Prem? Go on, watch the movie...
The audience is sure to reach for their handkerchief at many moments and families are sure to rush in for this song and
wedding saga.

Dus Kahaniyaan

Sanjay Gupta films are known for style quotient and have often made good in musical markets. Once again hats off to
Sanjay Gupta for giving us 10 stories in one film. Dus Kahaniyan is an episodic film about 10 different stories is join up of
26 actors, 6 directors, and 4 music directors for the first time in the Indian cinema.
Bollywood musical fraternity has got two new music directors with talent and promising results. The composers Gourov
Dasgupta and Bappa Lahiri makes their debut with this album while experienced Anand Raj Anand and Paki pop
sensation Shafqat Ali Khan delivered some good soundtracks. Another thing is the soundtracks are assorted in three
versions – club, lounge and poetry and they are 26 original soundtracks (6-CLUB, 9-LOUNGE and 11 POEMS).
The noted lyricist gulzar has given a good lyrics to the songs and also composer one of the story. Title song also has
been a hot – shot trailblazers stuff.
The new singer Aanchal along with contemporary KK’s vocals creates a hoodlum of emotions in the film.. Sunidhi
Chauhan gives a mesmerizing performance for dancing floors along with vivacious Aanchal as the effective background
crooner. Mika Singh fails to materialize his recent success of “Mauja Hi Mauja” (‘Jab We
Met’) while the music is simply average with routine arrangements were as KK delivers another bountiful of
entertainment of sound track. The Pakistani pop sensation Shafqat Ali Khan created sensation in Bollywood with
“Mitwa” (‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’) and now he refurbishes his career prospects by turning
into composer with traditional Sufi soundtrack “Kaala Peela”. Bappa Lahiri, son of veteran composer Bappi
Lahiri proves good with the album as he impresses all the way with soft calm feel of romanticism in the soundtrack
“Mushkil Kushaa. Composer Anand Raj Anand is improvising with vocals and “Bhula Diya” and
proves his merits both as composer and singer
Finally the number of good kahaniyaan in DUS KAHANIYAAN dominated and that is what goes in its favour to be a hit
which confirms us a not to be missed movie.

Dostana Movie Review

Film: DostanaBanner: Dharma ProductionsCast: Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra,
Bobby Deol, Shilpa ShettyDirection: Tarun MansukhaniProduction: Karan JoharMusic: Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar
RavjianiRelease Date: November 14, 2008
It's so execrable to see one of the best producers in town churning a flick sans strong substance. On other terms, John
Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan turn to be the hapless guys picking a flimsy script in hand. Uh-huh! We aren't
pertained about the roles they perform, but Director Tarun Manshukhani conks out in spelling perfect personations.
Merely, Karan Johar gears up as the lollapaloozas of big producer, who just merely pick out the scripts that have funny
characters and nothing else. Was Karan scatterbrained while heeding to Tarun's script? Alas! Maybe for a young lad or
missy of 16-25yrs, Dostana savors as grand fiestas of fun and frolic. While for others, it's a ridiculous flick to kill your
time.Wow! The promos just could have shot-your-adrenalines with sizzling missies Shilpa and Priyanka in bikinis and
swimsuits. On the pars, John with his machismos walking on sun-kissing beaches of Miami and smart Abhishek should
have enthralled filles and buckos. Patently, these tactics could've been the best mantras of filling producers' sacs for first
weekend. It's all happening in the Beach Party Capitol of the world...Miami is the setting for Dharma Productions latest
offering Dostana - serving a cocktail of all ingredient to do with Friendship, Fun, Frolic and that thing called Love... but
with a slight twist - there is a small case of pretending to be Gays!!When Sameer (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal (John
Abraham) are turned down for an apartment because the landlady doesn't want two strapping young men to corrupt her
young sexy niece Neha (Priyanka Chopra) they go to plan 'G' - they pretend to be 'Gay' to secure the apartment. All is
well till they meet the sexy siren Neha and thus begins a journey of fun frolic and a test of friendship like never before.
When Neha's boss Abhimanyu (Bobby Deol) enters the fray as the third contender for her affections, it gets even hotter
under everyone's vests and bikinis and the boys get down and dirty in sunny Miami.Perhaps, for a fine-rigid-reason,
many audiences may not have likeliness for this kind of flick. Of course, it hasn't got a fogeyish theme, but something
running above-their-heads. We're sure cloggy concepts of homo-sexuality may cling to the top-of-charts in Hollywood or
foreign films. Nay – it would take few years for these sensitive themes to be in simplistic perception. For
everyone's attentions, this isn't a piece stockpiling from Hollywood's Brokeback Mountain. Yeah! The synopsis should've
precisely got it clear-cut for you….Narration goes crisp with fun-filled moments of alpha-till-omega, except few
penultimate minutes. Watch out for performance of Abhishek's narration of 'Pyaar Ka Kahani with John Abraham' in
Venice; just call it 'awesome'. Patently, scenarios are similar with encounters of John and Abhishek with Boman Irani and
a guy getting in for inspection. Merriments spelled by these buddies, especially by John for 'Beedi' song of Omkara are
just rib-trickling. Furthermore, laughter breaks out with our nerves loosened with Kirron Kher's juncture. On the first half,
things are just riveting on John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and their gimmicks of stealing shows. Yeah, alluring missy
Priyanka Chopra with her gorgeous looks doesn't brim up top-notched performance. Somehow, as the story shifts to her
on the latter half, she is pushed into limelight with Bobby Deol on her side.Bobby with lippy clean-handed looks picks
your attention with his minimal sequences. A small kid donning his son's role is there marking smiles on your lips. And
again, best laughter kicks-up with John and Abhi screening the kid with 'Maa' song from Taare Zameen Par, imbuing him
to separate his papa and Priyanka. Of course, kid turns to be main content of emotions for Bobby getting away from his
ladylove. Hats off to Boman Hirani; his performance on cameo role is just great. Nevertheless, it would have been prissy
if he hadn't nabbed this role.Director Tarun Manshukhani coalesces jejunely- crafted script with far-fetched winning over
vistas. Possibly, a perfect conceptualization of the existing tale and narrative would have made it appealing for overall
audiences.Spare Vishal-Shekar for their feet-tapping numbers 'Desi Girl' and 'Maa Da Laadla Bigad Gaya'. Rest of the
songs isn't so beguiling, but Ayananka Bose rescues them with his enchanting cinematography. Exotic locations of Miami
have been well-captured and extend your best merits for him. Salim-Sulaiman's background score is over-the-top,
especially in humorous episodes. Costumes designed by Aki Narula and Manish Malhotra are staggeringly beauteous.
Abhishek's shirt-with-collars-pinned-veils and Priyanka's apparels are mind blowing. On the whole, Dostana hits bull's
eyes with fun and frolic moments that are quite unsuitable for certain audience. Tenuous script and irksome narration
stops your tongue in singing appraisals for Tarun Manshukhani and Karan Johar. On the button, John Abraham and
Abhishek Bachchan as captains fail to rescue the ship from sinking…. Yeah! It's pretty similar to clichéd headlines
on sports pages 'Sachin's century in vain'….

Don Muthuswami recent movie review

Don Muthuswami Director : Ashim Samanta Music :Anu Malik Lyrics : Amitabh Varma Starring :Hrishita Bhatt,
Mithun Chakraborty, Shakti Kapoor, Rohit Roy The proceedings of DON MUTHUSWAMI can be digested in
intervals. The comedy at times is funny, at times passable and at times, bearable. Mithun Chakraborty makes all the
difference carrying the film on his shoulders with his matured acting and seasoned understanding of the role he has to
portray. Lesser actors would have fallen by the wayside in trying to continuously keep up the comic act. But not DON
MUTHUSWAMI (Mithun Chakraborty), who is in a dilemma. His father, before dying, extracts a promise from him that he
would mend his ways and from a Don become a good man. Muthuswami is in a fix, so are his henchmen who watch in
disbelief as his father passes away after the Don has given his promise. There is no going back on his word now. From
Don, he wants to transform into Sir Muthuswamy and his henchmen are still with him but they now double up as
domestic help.
But Don being Don wants to marry off his daughter to the son of another Don. Sanjana (Hrishitaa Bhatt) refuses to be
transferred to another prison; from her home to another Don's home. So she resorts to lying that she is pregnant to call
off the marriage. Add to it Don's manager Pritam (Rohit Roy) who wants to marry his daughter and the confusion is
complete.
The Urdu teacher, Jaikishan (Mohit Raina), hired to polish Don's language skills also falls in love with Sanjana. And
there are the cops who are on the Don's trail to see whether he has really turned a new leaf. Everything takes place in a
matter of one day in the Don's house.
Comedy, when pulled off easily on screen looks easy. But in reality, comedy is a serious business. It's all about getting
into the mood of things and staying afloat rather than going overboard. Once the fine line is crossed between this
delicate art of making the audience laugh, it no longer remains a comedy but a farce. Thankfully, Mithun manages to
gather his enormous experience to keep the proceedings within the fine line.
His act takes one back to the AGNEPAATH days when he played 'Kishen Iyer Nariyal Paaniwala'. This is Mithun of old,
at his best. Among the cast, Dilip Joshi (Fikarchand) Rakesh Bedi (Shikharchand) combine well as tailors who give
Muthuswami a new look. Making his presence on the screen after a long time, Rakesh Bedi does well for himself.
I'm sure we will see more of this actor. The actor who plays Shakti Kapoor's sidekick (Vishal Kotian) impresses with his
comic timing. Rohit Roy is OK so is Shakti Kapoor. Frankly, he is much more talented than what he is made to do.
Hrishitaa Bhatt adds to the glam quotient. While she matches the mood in some scenes with Mithun, she crosses the fine
line in a few scenes. That's expected as there seems to be no focus given to her role which could have been developed
into a much meatier option. Mithun was the focus of attention.

Dil Kabaddi Movie

Film: Dil Kabaddi
Cast: Soha Ali Khan, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Rahul Bose
Director: Anil Senior
Producer: Shailesh R Singh
Music Director: Sachin Gupta,Dhruv Dhalla
Release Date: December 5, 2008
Banner: Studio 18,Paramhans Creations and Movies N More Pvt. Ltd.
StoryDil Kabaddi takes a look at the urban relationships in the most casual manner and more or less represents the
present-day youth couples prone to instability in marital life.Samit (Irrfan Khan) and Mita (Soha Ali Khan), married for a
couple of years, are mutually hitting towards separation. Desperate for some sexual gratification, Samit shifts with his
yoga instructor Kaya (Payal Rohatgi) and his experimentation includes everything from wearing sports bra to gstrings.
Rishi (Rahul Bose) and Simi (Konkona Sen Sharma) are a contented couple but still each one is lured to look
outside their relationship. Rishi is infatuated with his student Raga (Saba Azad). Simi introduces Mita to a common friend
Veer (Rahul Khanna) but subsequently herself falls for him. As each person exhibits the inherent tendency to go beyond
their permissible relationship zone, things get intricate and intertwined. The adulterous acts are redolent of Anurag
Basu’s Life in a Metro though the treatment over here is more humorous and light-hearted. Rahul Bose’
close encounter with his student is evocative (though not inspired) of the Shilpa Shetty – Shiny Ahuja intimacy
from the original. However, thematically the film is more reminiscent of the less-known offbeat film Kabhi Socha Bhi Na
Tha that released earlier this year. Even the talking-to-camera approach of storytelling is common to both.Director Anil
Senior sketches the central characters very convincingly and rather plays with their psyche to spice up the screenplay.
The treacherous temptation on each ones mind is credibly conveyed. It’s amusing how Simi tries to draw parallels
and find flaws in her own marriage on learning about the Samit-Mita split. The comic timing of the script is impeccable.
Some adult humour is smartly incorporated without making it sound vulgar. The scene where Irrfan Khan goes brashopping
is hilarious and the ‘Sweety Bopara’ gag is too funny. The peppy background score adds to the
amusement. The narration branches into frequent flashbacks in different time zones.Sadly the graph falls down
considerably in the second half. The story somehow strays to subplots, beats around the bush, becomes repetitive and
even drags at instances. Payal Rohatgi’s deafening act after the party scene is utterly irritating and absolutely
avoidable. Moreover the director attempts to be deliberately different in the climax by trying to unite the less compatible
couple and separating the more stable pair. This synthetic variation acts more as disbelief than surprise.Other than the
witty writing, the humour in the film should be credited to the efficient performances of the cast. Konkona Sen Sharma
capably highlights the traits of her typical female character who carries mental baggage, constantly compares life with
other couples, is easily provoked and is on a constant bickering mode. Soha Ali Khan is one grossly underrated actress
and its high time she got due recognition for her confident act. Irrfan Khan continues to portray his character with an
informal approach and casual comic timing. Rahul Bose is in elements after a long time and is especially expressive with
his reactions to the silly situation he lands into. Saba Azad appears calm and confident. Payal Rohatgi should quit
acting.Dil Kabaddi takes a sporty look at the game of hearts. Watch it for some ‘hearty’ laughs. Rating 1.5/5

The comedy film “Dhoom Dadakka” fulfills the need of audience to laugh and entertain themselves on
some of the most common jokes and foolish sequences. The director Shashi Ranjan is clear of script in the initial hour
but the second half is not equally hilarious.
The story of the film is about a Bhai meet that is being held in Bangkok and the purpose of the meet is to discuss the
lowering crime rates. The criminal Fursat Lala proposes an ambitious plan on a land during the meet that will help the
future generations of criminals to grow but the rival don, Mungi Lal, who is a senior criminal, opposes the plan saying that
Fursat doesn’t have a successor and Mungi has a successor and so he should be given to take up that plan and
bring his successor in a month to the meet.
Mungi goes in search of his successor to Mumbai from Bangkok. His successor will be who is son of his sister, Kamal
but he doesn’t know where does he lives? He handles the job of searching for his nephew to a secret agent who
prepares somebody else to take up to be his successor. By the time, a boy claims that he is original Kamal and another
girl claims that she is also Kamal and the three youngsters try to run away taking away the money from Mungi lal.
But Mungi takes the three young people with him and asks them to come with him and say that they are his successor in
the meet. By the time Fursat Lala is planning to take revenge on Mungi.
Shashi Ranjan is good in direction in the initial hour and he makes the audience laugh and dialogues are hilarious. The
script has many loop holes and the audience shouldn’t look for a concrete story in this movie. Music is good.
There are less number of songs in the film but are choreographed well.
The performance of youngsters Sammir Dattani, Shaad Randhawa, Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher and Gulshan Grover
is good.
The film is altogether an average entertainer and will not make average collections. The movie doesn’t have star
attraction and has not been promoted and it is expected to do below average on the box-office.

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal:Think of sports-based films made in India and visuals of LAGAAN and CHAK DE INDIA flash
across your mind. Will DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL fall in the same league as these immensely popular flicks, is one
vital question that crosses your mind as the reels of UTV's new sport-based film [their second this year, after HATTRICK]
DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL are about to unfold.
GOAL is a simple story that packs not just the sport, but also dabbles with issues like racism and fanaticism associated
with this sport. Issues that Westerners can relate to more than Indians, especially racial discrimination. As a film, GOAL
has its share of highs and lows. If the first hour is strictly okay, the pendulum swings in its favour in the second hour -- in
the last 20 minutes, to be precise. The sport succeeds in arousing patriotic feelings, besides involving the viewer in the
fight-to-finish finale. Write your own movie review of Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal
Conversely, there are times when you feel that the film falls back on the predictable, tried-n-tested mundane stuff. And
packs in something ['Billo', the song] that's just not in sync with the mood of the film. To sum up, GOAL is a simple story,
well told. Notwithstanding the hiccups, this film hits a goal, courtesy its brilliantly executed finale. Southall United Football
Club is facing its deepest crisis ever. Bankrupt, with no stars, no coach, no sponsors, no takers, no spectators and most
importantly, no owner. After the City Council sends an eviction notice, it's the last chance to save the ground, the club
and their honour. Shaan [Arshad Warsi] takes up the challenge to save the club from extinction. After a disesteemed explayer,
Tony Singh [Boman Irani], joins them as the coach, Shaan and he begin work to gather the worn out team.
Sunny's [John Abraham] dreams to play for England crashes after his club does not select him. The reason is apparently
not his game, but the colour of his skin. Sunny and Shaan never see eye to eye. Adding to their personal chaos is
Shaan's cousin sister Rumana [Bipasha Basu], who is in love with Sunny. Tony manages to convince Sunny to play for
Southall United. It takes a while before Shaan and the team warms up to Sunny. With Sunny joining Southall United, the
team gradually starts climbing the points tally. The City Council is worried. Johny Bakshi [Dalip Tahil], a commentator and
a frontman of the Council, plans to lure Sunny away from Southall United. Director Vivek Agnihotri combines style and
substance in his second outing GOAL. Take the sequence at the very start, when an English woman and her frontman
[Dalip Tahil] reveal their plans of coming up with a shopping complex on the ground. The director opens the cards at the
very outset. But the narrative dips, rises, hits a low and ascends unfailingly till the first hour ends. The sequence prior to
the intermission -- at the Manchester United Stadium -- leaves you awe-struck and makes you look forward to a powerful
second hour. Fortunately, the drama only gets exciting in the post-interval hour. The cold vibes that Arshad and John
share as also John's volte-face, when he decides to abandon his club for the riches, give the film that extra dimension,
camouflaging the defects that raised their head not too long back. The film dips at times in this hour too, but the journey
to the finale is well structured. Yes, John's change of heart is slightly filmy and clichéd, but the climax is astounding. The
penultimate 20 minutes in the stadium are awe-inspiring and that's what you carry back home. Vivek Agnihotri knows
what he's talking and though you know that he got swayed by technique in his very first film CHOCOLATE, in GOAL, he
never lets technique overpower content. The story is simple, but absorbing and presented stylishly. He's truly evolved
into a fine storyteller. There're just two songs in the narrative the anthem 'Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal'/excellent and
'Billo'/well-tuned, but the mujra doesn't go well with the mood of the film. Attar Singh Saini's cinematography is striking.
The camera movements so difficult in a film like this -- are exemplary. Both John and Arshad are the 'Men of the Match'.
John is a revelation. Wrongly dubbed as a clotheshorse in his earlier films, he hits a goal in GOAL. John lends the right
texture to his character. He not only looks right for the part, but also plays the sport like a pro. GOAL should occupy the
top slot in his body of work! Arshad Warsi is superb. An incredibly talented actor whose versatility speaks volumes. Cast
in a sober, serious role this time, Arshad enacts the part with as much ease as he portrayed Circuit. Bipasha Basu may
not have a lengthy role, but she adds zing to the goings-on as and when she appears. Her love story with John is really
cute. Boman Irani is top notch. Note his roar at the intermission point or the uneasiness he displays whenever his team
locks horns with the rivals on field. It's a flawless performance. Raj Zutshi is first-rate. Dalip Tahil carries the venomous
part well. The actor enacting the role of Arshad's wife does a commendable job. On the whole, DHAN DHANA DHAN
GOAL has an ordinary first hour, but the post-interval portions, especially the exhilarating climax, makes up for
everything. At the box-office, the producers [UTV] have already recovered the cost of production from various sales and
in-film advertising. The theatrical business will only add to the booty, considering the film has the merits to work with
moviegoers. Another factor that goes in its favour and it's an important one is the fact that the moviegoers haven’t
seen a new release post-Diwali. That should reap dhan for DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL.

typecast performance from him but the man completely blew me away with his picture perfect characterization of Amar
Kaul. There's not a flaw you can detect in this standout act, which deserves a standing ovation. Take a bow, Sir. In fact,
every character in DASVIDANIYA fits the script to the 'T'. Be it the boss Saurabh Shukla, his mother Sarita Joshi, his
brother Gaurav Gera, his guitar teacher Joy Fernandes, his best friend Rajat Kapoor, the car sales woman Purbi Joshi,
or his first and only love Neha Dhupia. They all combine to lend meaning to this movie, which has a story that will
connect with every human being.
It's a marvelous movie, which takes you on a journey of self. A roller coaster of emotions. Every moment matches the
mood. The office decor, the house where he lives, with its middleclass look, Rajat's posh bungalow in Russia or even
Neha's stylish home. The detailing is in sync. Music by Kailash Kher leaves a lasting impression. Check out 'Alvida' and
'Meri Maa'
What's more important, much after the movie is over; you play some parts in your head and then realize that director
Shashant Shah has smartly linked some scenes, which, when you see at first, have no meaning. But when seen in
retrospect, you marvel at the genius of Shah. Take the first scene for instance, where Rajat is handing over a parcel to a
Russian girl or the scene where Amar comes across a fuming customer when he is buying a car. Their eyes lock,
recognition flickers but it's only later you learn who the person actually was.
Amar is leading a mundane life. He is dutifully taking care of his mother who has a hearing problem and topmost is his 'to
do' list which he faithfully fills every morning. A timid fellow, he accepts without murmur whatever life offers. He is not
able to voice his feelings or opinions and hence is bullied by his boss. But life deals him a severe blow when he learns he
is dying of cancer and has only three months to live.

Bombay to Bangkok

The movie Bombay to Bangkok is not so extraordinary when compared to kukunoor’s previous works like Iqbal,
Dor. But we can say that it’s different from the previous movie themes. As his previous movies is theme centric
and is based on common problems that are faced in the society. Even most of the movies of Kukunoor’s have
Shreyas in leading role but even shreyas performance falled in quality from his earlier works, and his fans are definitely
bound to be disappointed.
The movie is no rollicking ride though we should praise the Kukunoor’s for his direction he can not make as a
writer and that he proved with this story. The story of the movie is just dull and boring and repetitive dream sequence of
Shreyas really irritates the audiences. Due to such sequences the movie looks too long and it becomes tedious for
viewers to watch it. Climax was also arid and very few scenes in the movie are entertaining. Music of the movie is
another let down and the track ‘Same Same But Different’ is better from all the tracks. The only positive
thing in the movie is the showing the beauty of Thailand its food and culture. Finally we can say that Bombay to Bangkok
is a sore disappointment of Kukunoor’s direction.

Black Friday Movie Review

Black Friday Movie Stills

Some films leave you stunned and speechless with sheer power. The powerful story, the powerful execution, the
powerful performances sweep you off your feet. Long after you’ve watched the film, it still haunts you, it disturbs
you, it stays in your memory, it still sends a chill down your spine if you recall the incidents.

BLACK FRIDAY, directed by Anurag Kashyap, is one such film!

Who can ever forget the devastating 1993 Mumbai blasts? The tragedy not only shook Mumbai and the rest of India, but
also hit headlines across the world. What triggered off these blasts? Who engineered those attacks? Who were behind
this act of terrorism? As a Mumbaiite, a number of questions haunted you then.

BLACK FRIDAY provides the answers!
Anurag Kashyap tells you about the conspiracy and conspirators, the people who engineered the heinous and monstrous
crime, the blasts and the aftermath. A number of sequences in the narrative catch you unaware, they are disturbing, they
evoke emotions such as shock and sadness in you, they make you go into an introspection mood because it revolves
around real people who lost their loved ones in real life… That’s one of the reasons why BLACK FRIDAY
works as a film!
Certain films are beyond box-office. You don’t look at the balance sheet at the end of the day, calculating the
crores the investors may’ve earned or lost. It’s not about making money here [if the investors do, great!],
but all about documenting a tragedy you can never erase from your memory. The personal losses, the pain, the
sorrow… Even if the wounds may have healed, the scars will always remain.
Watch BLACK FRIDAY. It’s Hindi cinema at its best!
BLACK FRIDAY is based on the events leading up to and the investigation thereafter of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.
The 1993 Mumbai blasts left 300 + dead and a 1,000 + injured. Based on S. Hussain Zaidi’s book, the film takes
one into the heart of the conspiracy behind the Mumbai blasts and the massive follow-up investigation by giving detailed
account of planning, execution and back-end operations of the same.
1.25 p.m.: The first blast occurs at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
2.45 p.m.: Blast at Worli Passport Office.
A series of explosions take place at Air India Building, Century Bazaar shopping centre, adjacent to Shiv Sena Bhavan at
Dadar, Zaveri Bazar, compound of Plaza cinema, 18th floor of Sea Rock Hotel in Bandra, Centaur Hotel, Juhu, Centaur
Hotel, Santacruz.
The clues begin to surface…
The story of BLACK FRIDAY is narrated in the most convincing manner. Unlike the trend of giving screen names to
characters, Anurag Kashyap uses real-life names and that only adds to the authenticity. Besides, Kashyap’s
handling of a number of sequences is hair-raising…
* The investigations begin with the cross-examination of Asgar [Yusuf] Muqadam, the manager of Tiger Memon’s
company. The interrogation in the police lock-up is electrifying.
* The execution of the plan -- people disbursing to different areas -- gives a clear idea of how the heinous crime was
carried out.
* Badshah’s journey from Delhi to Rampur [Uttar Pradesh] to Jaipur to Tonk to Jaipur again [Rajasthan] and the
tiff over the passport gives you goose bumps.
* The argument between Additional Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria and Badshah during the interrogation is
superb. The war of words between the two [especially Maria’s lines] are clapworthy.
* The training in Pakistan is an eye-opener.
Anurag Kashyap deserves the highest praise for handling the subject material with utmost sensitivity. It’s a
daringly unusual attempt and only someone with courage could’ve made a film on this tragedy. Besides,
Kashyap’s storytelling is very different -- the film unfolds in chapters -- yet every chapter is so efficiently handled
that you don’t want to move your eyes from the screen. It’s only towards the end [Tiger Memon addressing
a group of people] that makes you decipher the reason behind the blasts. In a way, the film moves in reverse order as far
as the chronology of events are concerned.
Another aspect that needs to be highlighted is the background score, which only enhances the impact. Cinematography
[S. Natarajan Subramaniam] is first-rate. The red tones used during Rakesh Maria’s interrogation sequences are
truly imaginative. The blast sequences [Sham Kaushal] are brilliant. In fact, the use of slow motion and crane shots
makes the carnage look authentic.
BLACK FRIDAY is embellished with superior performances, but topping the list is Pawan Malhotra, who enacts the role
of Tiger Memon with gusto. Easily one of the finest performances witnessed on the Hindi screen, the actor deserves
distinction marks for a terrific portrayal.
Kay Kay [Additional Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria] is splendid. He conveys so much through his eyes. Aditya
Shrivastava [Badshah] excels yet again. Zakir Hussain is adequate. Arbaaz Ali Khan looks the character. Pankaj Jha is
effective. Pratima Kazmi is alright. Vijay Maurya’s resemblance to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is amazing.
There are a number of characters in the film and each of them is natural.
On the whole, BLACK FRIDAY is an outstanding piece of work. One of the finest products to come out of Mumbai, this
one is a hard-hitting film that has the courage to say what it says. Do yourself a favor: Watch BLACK FRIDAY. Hindi
cinema at its best!

Bhoothnath Movie Review

Bhoothnath Movie Review
Director : Vivek Sharma Music : Vishal-ShekharLyrics : Javed AkhtarStarring : Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla,
Shahrukh Khan, Aman Siddiqui.
Bhoothnath directed by Vivek Sharma stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aman Siddiqui, Juhi Chawla, Rajpal Yadav, Satish
Shah, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Shahrukh Khan. Some good news for Shahrukh Khan fans. SRK has a good 30 mins
long role in Bhoothnath! The movie is targeted mainly at the kids, so how good is it? Is there something in it for the older
generation as well? Or is it an out-an-out kiddo movie?
Bhoothnath revolves around 2 characters, Banku (Aman Sidiqui) and Kailash Nath a.k.a Bhootnath (Amitabh
Bachchan). Banku and family (Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla) move into a mansion Nath-villa in Goa, which is
haunted after the death of Kailash Nath. The bhoot tries every trick in its book to try and scare Banku away, but fails as
he stays unaffected. Slowly but steadily a bond develops between the Bhoot and Banku, the bhoot gets a new name -
Bhootnath! There is a twist in the movie when Bhootnath’s son returns from US and decides to sell the mansion
away.. Catch the movie to find out what happens next as the movie definitely is worth a watch in your nearest movie-plex.
Bhootnath Review
First time director Vivek Sharma, has managed to extract an award-worthy performance from child artist Aman Siddiqui
and good performances from the rest of the cast too. The first half is all fun and is targeted mainly at the kids between
the age group of 4 - 12. They are gonna enjoy the first half immensely. The second is more of a emotional tale with
something in it for everyone, the kids will enjoy it and so will their parents / family.
Vivek Sharma proves to be a excellent story-teller and a director to watch out for in the future. He truly believes in the
fact that content is king and it shows on screen. The scenes between Banku and Bhootnath is scripted, performed and
directed brilliantly. The special effects is another plus point of Bhootnath. Technically the movie is top-notch.
Cinematography (Vishnu Rao) is good. The music is average at best. The only track that stands out is Mere Buddy. Also
a few songs in the movie can be removed to enhance the pace of the movie, especially in the second half.
Performances are top notch. The legendary Amitabh Bachchan is brilliant. Watch him in the scenes involving Aman
Siddiqui and you will realise, just why, he is in a different league altogether. His expressions alone are award-worthy.
Hats off to the one and only Big B. Aman Siddiqui too is outstanding. His cute smile, laugh, expressions, dialogue
delivery are brilliant. If Darsheel bagged all Best Child Actor awards and even managed a nomination for Filmfare Best
Actor, Aman could probably achieve the same i.e if the movie succeeds at the box-office.
Juhi Chawla as Banku’s mother is great. Shahrukh Khan does well. Satish Shah is excellent in a comic role.
Priyanshu Chatterjee deserves better roles. Rajpal Yadav surprisingly has a limited role.
Overall, Bhootnath has comedy, drama, emotions and the performances are brilliant. It has something in it for every
generation. Do catch it this weekend. At the box-office, at lot depends on word-of-mouth. Should do well!

Bhagam Bhag Movie Review

Bhagam Bhag Movie Stills

Bhagam Bhag is a 2006 Bollywood film starring Akshay Kumar and Govinda. It is the first time the two are in a film
together. The movie also stars Lara Dutta, Jackie Shroff, Arbaaz Khan and Paresh Rawal. It is directed by Priyadarshan.
Shooting continued in Oxford, United Kingdom in July and August 2006, filming at several University of Oxford
landmarks. It released on December 22, 2006.

Famous Physicist Russell Layberry also makes a rare cameo appearance. Bhagam Bhag is a remake of a hit Malayalam
comedy called Mannaar Mathai Speaking which was a sequel to Ramji Rao Speaking which was made in Hindi as Hera
Pheri.

Champak Chaturved (Paresh Rawal) has a theatre group in India and he performs shows all over the country. Bunty
(Akshay Kumar) and Babla (Govinda) along with others are actors in the group. Both are very naughty natured guys who
never miss any chance to flirt with girls, even the girls in the group. At the completion of one show, an organizer offers
Champak's group to perform 30 shows in England. They all get very excited but as per the contract they need to leave
for England on the same day. Unfortunately the heroine of the play opts out due to Bunty's misbehavior.

They reach London, where most of the film is set. Through Gullu (Rajpal Yadav), a taxi driver, Babla and Bunty try to find
a girl for their play but it leads to many misunderstandings and a series of funny sequences. In this process, Babla and
Bunty fall into trouble involving a drug baron and other mishaps.

Thereafter, the trio discovers a girl Munni (Lara Dutta), who suffers from amnesia to act in their drama and just as Bunty
and Munni fall in love, her memory returns and it brings chaos into their lives, including a murdered husband!

From here the story leads to its climax in which a major conspiracy gets exposed.

Review

Priyadarshan has attempted varied genres over the years. His body of work includes some thought-provoking films as
well as films that defy logic but nonetheless cater to the hoi polloi. Of late, the supremely talented storyteller has trained
his sights on one particular genre -- comedy.

BHAGAM BHAG, his new outing, charters a similar path. At least that's the impression you get when you look at its
qualitative promos. After a breezy first half, you realize that there's more to BHAGAM BHAG. It's not just a comic fare. It
transforms into a murder mystery.

Nothing wrong if Priyan packs two diverse genres in one film, but the problem is that the comedy works and the whodunit
doesn't!

Let's examine the two halves of BHAGAM BHAG minutely. Analysis of Part 1 first:

* Lock your brains and throw the key in the sea as the curtains go up and BHAGAM BHAG unfolds. Remember, don't
look for logic, don't ask questions.

* The escapades of Akshay-Govinda-Paresh are truly entertaining. In fact, howlarious at times. A number of comic
scenes are the mainstay of the enterprise. The first half, to put it rightly, is paisa vasool entertainment!

Now an analysis of Part 2 [post-interval portions]:

* The whodunit takes off very well at the intermission point. But as the mystery deepens and the three suspects [Akshay,
Govinda, Paresh] start running helter-skelter, trying to put pieces of the jigsaw puzzle meticulously, the sequence of
events that lead to the finale aren't convincing and captivating.

* The climax is the biggest culprit. The identity of the murderer and the motive behind the murder should come as a
shock if the whodunit has to have a solid impact. In BHAGAM BHAG, the end result is not as impactful.

To sum up, BHAGAM BHAG may not be Priyadarshan's finest effort in this genre, but it provides ample laughter and
entertainment in the final tally. Had the second hour been as captivating as the first, it would've been a different story
altogether!

Champak [Paresh Rawal] has a theatre group in India and he performs shows all over the country. Bunty [Akshay] and
Babla [Govinda] along with others are actors in the group. Both are naughty-natured guys who never miss a chance toflirt with girls, even with girls in the group.

At the completion of one show, an organizer [Asrani] offers Champak's group to perform shows in England.
Unfortunately, the heroine of the play [Tanushree Dutta] opts out due to Bunty's misbehavior.

They reach London and through Gullu [Rajpal], a taxi driver, Bunty and Babla try to find a girl for their play, but it leads to
many misunderstandings. In this process, Bunty and Babla fall into trouble involving a drug baron [Manoj Joshi].

Thereafter, Bunty and Gullu discover a girl Minni [Lara Dutta], who suffers from amnesia, to act in their drama and just as
Bunty and Minni fall in love, she regains her memory and reveals that she's married to a U.K.-based entrepreneur
[Arbaaz Khan].

Comedy is serious business and Priyadarshan has explored this genre with flourish. In BHAGAM BHAG, there are ample
moments that tickle your funny bone. But it's the writing in the second hour [screenplay: Neeraj Vora] that acts as a
spoilsport.

* The Shakti Kapoor-Rajpal Yadav track raises a few laughs in the first hour, but stands out like a sore thumb in the next
hour. Ditto for the drug baron [Manoj Joshi] and his sidekick [Sharat Saxena]. It hardly evokes mirth!

* The murder mystery is just not convincing. The Arbaaz-Lara-Jackie tracks are poorly etched out. And as pointed out at
the outset, the climax -- very similar to the one in David Dhawan's SHAADI NO. 1 -- manages a chuckle, but is far from
being hilarious.

Given the fact that Priyadarshan is saddled with an ordinary screenplay, there's not much he can do to elevate the
goings-on. Yet, there's no denying that his handling of the comic scenes is superb. Pritam's music is strictly okay. 'Signal'
is the best track of the enterprise, while 'Afreen' appeals more due to its choreography and the colorful set [Sabu Cyril]
than its tune. The music composer is just not in form here. Jeeva's cinematography is topnotch. Dialogues [Neeraj Vora]
are excellent. Vora knows where to give the right punches!

Akshay does his part well, but why is the actor getting typecast in similar roles? Compare his character in DEEWANE
HUYE PAAGAL, GARAM MASALA and PHIR HERA PHERI with the one in BHAGAM BHAG and it's the same Akshay in
all the films. Hello Mr. Kumar, why this act of monotony?

Govinda doesn't get it right in his comeback vehicle. Known for his impeccable sense of timing vis-à-vis comic films, he's
just not in form this time around. Also, he's looking older and obese in the film. Paresh Rawal is competent, while Rajpal
Yadav is superb, but is sidelined in the second hour.

Lara Dutta lacks the talent to carry off a challenging role. She looks pretty, that's it! Jackie Shroff is mechanical. Arbaaz
Khan doesn't get much scope. Shakti Kapoor is in true form. Asrani, Sharat Saxena, Manoj Joshi, Razzaq Khan and
Amita Nangia are okay. Tanushree Dutta looks glamorous in the 'Signal' track.

On the whole, BHAGAM BHAG will be loved for its comedy in the first hour, but the whodunit in the second hour tapers
the impact. At the box-office, the pre-release hype will ensure a bountiful first four days [Monday is Christmas, making it a
4-day weekend], thereby adding to the booty. Even otherwise, the holiday period in the coming days and lack of a massappealing
entertainer since DHOOM 2 will benefit BHAGAM BHAG, making the film a safe bet for its distributors.

Bal Ganesh movie reveiws

Exactly two years ago, on October 21, 2005 to be precise, HANUMAN opened the doors for animation films in India.
Subsequently, one saw a number of animation films hitting the marquee, but HANUMAN continues to remain the most
popular animation film witnessed on the Hindi screen.Shemaroo's BAL GANESH enlightens viewers about the early
years of Lord Ganesha. The best thing about BAL GANESH is that it refreshes your memory with incidents pertaining to
Lord Ganesha, if at all you don't recollect the events minutely.
The makers have encompassed a few chapters from Lord Ganesha's childhood and the ones that are well illustrated on
screen include:-
[i] The birth of Lord Ganesha and the confrontation with Lord Shiva at the start;
[ii] Lord Kubera's invitation to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha to his house and the sequence that
follows that depicts Lord Ganesha's voracious appetite.
Also, the chapter pertaining to Lord Ganesha taking the round of his universe, his parents, is interestingly depicted.
While the animation is good at places, it could've been better at times too. Sequences depicting Lord Ganesha as also
his constant companion Mooshak will be loved by the kids. In fact, Mooshak's antics brings a smile on your face on
several occasions.
On the whole, BAL GANESH is an interesting celluloid experience that should attract kids by the dozens. Only thing, the
makers/distributors should increase the promotion and also choose the right show timings since the film has the merits to
leave a mark. Courtesy:indiafm.com

Anuranan

Anuranan in Bengali means 'resonance' that is synchronization of tunes. The movie is story of two couples who struggles
to survive as a couple and as individuals. Tunes here mean human mentality. The film is about two couples Rahul Bose
and Rituparna Sen settled in London. They come back to India after Rahul’s transfer and Rituparna’s only
sadness in there relation is that not having there own child. And on the other side is another couple played by Rajat
Kapoor and Raima Sen. Here Rajat Kapoor is busy businessmen who compare everything with money and his wife finds
herself happy with her books. Rahul(Rahul Bose), Nandita(Rituparna sen), Preeti(Raima Sen) and Amit(Rajat kapoor)
are seen walking through life, each of them going through a different phase.
The movie appeared too much slow in the first half and director tried to sketch the character of Rahul with lots of patients
and analogies. This made the spectators quite impatient and the second half is better which shows how the two couples
get together and mingle with each other. Raima gets thin attraction towards Rahul who is of same mentality. Finally the
director ended the movie with a brilliant twist and the question arises in viewers mind that how much honest is the
character of Raima. The understanding between preeti and Nandita at the end of the story when their individual worlds
are broken to bits is good.
The movie is shot in London with some brilliant photography and have very beautiful portrayed relationships and the
sensitivity with which emotions have been captured is admirable.

Antara back in visible mode with Gayab

With her new release Gayab Antara Mali is back in news. She looks hot in the movie in her skimpy outfits, giving other
bold babes a run for their money. She has also reportedly given a sizzling performance in soon to be released Naach. In
Gayab, Antara plays a girl, Mohini, whose life takes a turn when a guy who has the power to become invisible falls for her
charms. Antara for the first time has acted in a comedy.Despite a commendable performance in Ram Gopal Varma's
'Company' and 'Road' she hasn't exactly been flooded with offers. But the daughter of renowned fashion photographer,
Jagdish Mali, is set to surprise us all! Antara almost fooled everyone on the sets of her her new film when she dressed up
like Madhuri Dixit in that sexy "Sailaab" song.
Antara is most famous for her role of Madhuri in 'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon'. In this curiously titled film she
plays Chutki, the village belle from Gajrola. Her character is an ardent fan of Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit-Nene. She
performs all the Madhuri numbers at the nautankis including Ek Do Teen even as she dreams of emulating her idol in
real life.
The adulation of the villagers who call her Gajrola ki Madhuri prompts Chutki to come to Mumbai to become a star.
Antara has revealed herself to be a big fan of Madhuri. She has watched most of her films, and the one she especially
remembers is the film Sangeet in which Madhuri played a blind girl. This Chandan Arora-directed light comedy is
expected to be released by the coming September.
She says, "Just because my father is a famous photographer, I need not hog the limelight. I have to first prove myself."
There were offers from big banners for supporting roles, from television and also from stage. But she wanted to be the
lead heroine, and was ready to wait for her turn.
Her character in 'Company' was a complex and deeper one. It needed turning the searchlight inwards. 'Company' was
quite a draining experience for her. Summing up her philosophy, she says: "I'm here in showbiz because I like acting. If I
make it fine, if not, I will still continue to love cinema."

Aggar Movie Reviews

Obsession. The word has been a hot favorite of dream merchants in Bollywood. From Abbas-Mustan's DARAAR to
Yash Chopra's DARR, to films made to this date, a number of storytellers have woven themes around the obsessive
streak of individuals. Ananth Narayan Mahadevan's AGGAR also does that. A number of thrillers have successfully
explored the darker side of human personality with dexterity. AGGAR is a fine addition to the list, although the sole
glaring flaw lies in the fact that the director has chosen to opt for an atypical end to the story. When everything was so
unpredictable from start till pre-climax [screenplay: S. Farhan], when layer after layer was peeled with such finesse, when
the viewer was absolutely clueless vis-à-vis what lay in store, why Ananth why opt for a tame ending? Yet, in all fairness,
AGGAR keeps you involved in most parts. That's the hallmark of a good thriller, isn't it?
The end has an interesting twist that injects life into the proceedings, but the beginning is a bit iffy!
Dwelling on this would mean giving the meat out, so let it be said that Tushaar Kapoor (Aryan) released from the
sanatorium, (he had accidentally killed his girlfriend, Sophie Choudry), meeting Nauheed Cyrusi, who then takes him to
her boss Udita Gosawmi (Jhanvi) for employment is a bit hard to digest. It somehow does not fit into the scheme of
things.
Also Udita, who is in Bangkok with Tushaar, (she runs an event management company), hands over her phone to him as
she goes off to meet a colleague. Before she can get back, Tushaar has already gone into her picture folder, to
‘A’ particular photograph and even has the nerve to ask her who she is??? Clearly, how can anyone go
through someone’s cell phone in a manner like that and which lady in her right mind would mind that!!!
Isn’t that strange, Mr Anant Narayan Mahadevan???
Becoming attracted to the wrong man can have deadly consequences. Janvi's [Udita Goswami] life seems ideal on the
surface: she runs a thriving business and is married to Dr. Aditya Merchant [Shreyas Talpade], a psychiatrist. But a faint
air of discontent begins to creep into her relationship when she begins suspecting her husband of having an extra-marital
affair with Radha [Saadhika], an interior designer.
Janvi impulsively gets drawn into a steamy affair with Aryan [Tusshar Kapoor], who works in her company. But in a
strange twist of events, she realizes that she has stumbled badly and tries to break off her affair. Aryan, however, is not
willing to give her up so easily and his attraction to her soon becomes a dangerous obsession.
AGGAR has three interesting words below its logo -- Passion, Betrayal and Terror -- and AGGAR does justice to it in
those 2 hours. There's never a moment that gives you the feeling of déjà vu. Not once do you feel that it's one of those
been-there-seen-that kind of movie-going experiences.
Note the sequences: Sophie Chaudhary accidentally falling of from the rooftop mansion… The gradual attraction
between Tusshar and Udita… Udita's outburst in the office. Ananth executes the written material wonderfully well.
But, as mentioned earlier, the culmination to the tale should've been equally unpredictable, not abstract mind you. A
badly bruised Tusshar emerging from the pool and beating Shreyas black and blue is a complete cinematic liberty. Ditto
for the end.
The other area where the film dips is Mithoon's music. The young musician showed promise in his earlier works, but the
tunes in AGGAR sound similar to his recent work THE TRAIN [the songs of this film are still fresh]. Hello, why this need
to repeat yourself? Have you exhausted your stock of tunes already? K. Rajkumar's cinematography is topnotch.
AGGAR rests on three characters mainly and each of them packs in a solid punch. Tusshar is a revelation. The actor
has always come up with honest performances in the past, but he pitches his best work to date in AGGAR. We're used to
watching actors hamming away to glory in roles of obsessed lovers, but Tusshar doesn't go over the top at all.
Tremendous work!
Shreyas Talpade is in complete form. Enacting the role of a shrewd operator who's in search of a guinea pig to carry out
his devious plan, the young actor proves his versatility yet again. His volte face will catch the viewer by surprise.
Udita Goswami is fantastic. She sinks her teeth in this challenging role and enacts it with gusto. AGGAR is one film that
showcases her talent to the optimum. Excellent work indeed! Nauheed Cyrusi is adequate. Sophie Chaudhary makes her
presence felt in a brief role. Saadhika is okay.
On the whole, AGGAR is a well-made thriller that should appeal to the multiplex junta primarily. But its business will get
affected due to several vital reasons: The 20/20 cricket matches [the India-Pakistan match specifically], the
commencement of the holy month of Ramzan and Ganeshotsav. Obviously, a large section of moviegoers will stay away
from cineplexes in days to come. The poor opening will also tell on its business.
