Antara back in visible mode with Gayab

With her new release Gayab Antara Mali is back in news. She looks hot in the movie in her skimpy outfits, giving other
bold babes a run for their money. She has also reportedly given a sizzling performance in soon to be released Naach. In
Gayab, Antara plays a girl, Mohini, whose life takes a turn when a guy who has the power to become invisible falls for her
charms. Antara for the first time has acted in a comedy.Despite a commendable performance in Ram Gopal Varma's
'Company' and 'Road' she hasn't exactly been flooded with offers. But the daughter of renowned fashion photographer,
Jagdish Mali, is set to surprise us all! Antara almost fooled everyone on the sets of her her new film when she dressed up
like Madhuri Dixit in that sexy "Sailaab" song.
Antara is most famous for her role of Madhuri in 'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon'. In this curiously titled film she
plays Chutki, the village belle from Gajrola. Her character is an ardent fan of Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit-Nene. She
performs all the Madhuri numbers at the nautankis including Ek Do Teen even as she dreams of emulating her idol in
real life.
The adulation of the villagers who call her Gajrola ki Madhuri prompts Chutki to come to Mumbai to become a star.
Antara has revealed herself to be a big fan of Madhuri. She has watched most of her films, and the one she especially
remembers is the film Sangeet in which Madhuri played a blind girl. This Chandan Arora-directed light comedy is
expected to be released by the coming September.
She says, "Just because my father is a famous photographer, I need not hog the limelight. I have to first prove myself."
There were offers from big banners for supporting roles, from television and also from stage. But she wanted to be the
lead heroine, and was ready to wait for her turn.
Her character in 'Company' was a complex and deeper one. It needed turning the searchlight inwards. 'Company' was
quite a draining experience for her. Summing up her philosophy, she says: "I'm here in showbiz because I like acting. If I
make it fine, if not, I will still continue to love cinema."
